Day 1
Arrival at Paro International Airport of Bhutan
Upon your arrival in Paro International Airport, you shall be greeted by a aCholala Tours & Travels representatives and he/she shall brief you about the tours, itinerary, inclusions as well as cultural practices of Bhutan including Do’s and Don’ts. Then you shall be taken to hotel in Paro. On arrival we check-in to your hotel, where you can fresh up and then we set out for your sightseeing to the followings;
- Rinpung Dzong
- National museum of Bhutan
- Drukgyel Restoration site
- Kichu Lhakhang
Day 2
Paro - Thimphu - Dochula - Punakha
Today after your breakfast, we travel towards the capital. The distance between Paro and Thimphu is about 65 kms and will take about an hour. On the way, we will visit Tachog Lhakhang located on a hilltop across Pa Chhu connected by an ancient iron bridge built in the late 13th and early 14th century by Thangtong Gyalpo
On reaching Thimphu, we visit the following places;
After lunch, we set out for Punakha. The distance between Thimphu to Punakha is 75km and will take 3 hours. En route, you would be making some stop and sightseeing at Dochula Pass. It’s about 45 minutes’ drive from Thimphu. After Dochula Pass we head towards Chime Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility. Then we head to Punakha.
In the evening, return to your hotel in Punakha for a comfortable overnight stay.
On reaching Thimphu, we visit the following places;
- Buddha Dordenma
- Simtokha Dzong

Day 3
Punakha - Pele La - Trongsa - Yutong La - Cheerful Chume Valley
Our journey to the destination of the day begins with an early morning visit to the stunning beauty Punakha Dzong, located at the junction of two rivers of Punatsang Chhu, Mo Chhu (Female) on the right and Pho Chhu (Male) on the left. We then walk towards the famous suspension bridge of Punakha upstream of Pho chhu where our ride awaits us on the other side of the river.
On the way, you will witness the reconstruction of Wangdue Phodrang Dzong and en route you will visit Chendebji Chorten and Trongsa Dzong.
We continue our journey towards Chume Valley. It is a beautiful valley that you will wake up in the morning for and inspire the day's trip to much awaited Switzerland of Asian, Bumthang.

Day 4
Cheerful Chume Valley - Bumthang - Switzerland of Asia
After your breakfast, we head towards Bumthang Valley. Upon reaching there we set out for our sightseeing to the following;

- Lhodrak Kharchhu
- Chakar Lhakhang
- Kurjey Lhakhang
- Tamshing Lhakhang
- Kenchosum Lhakhang
Day 5
Burning Lake - Ura Valley - Shingkhar - Bumthang - Trongsa
The final day of our excursion begins with an early morning drive towards the famous Burning Lake - Mebar Tsho located along the way to the Tang village over the feeder road and is about 30 minutes’ drive away.
We then continue our expedition further east towards beautiful Ura valley for about hour and half through beautiful conifer mountains, valleys, farms and pastures. Shelthang La Pass at 3600 meters above sea level will offer you with a magnificent view of Mt. Gangkar Puensum on a clear sunny day. the highest unclimbed mountain in Bhutan.
Driving for 30 minutes further from Ura, we will reach Shingkhar village at an elevation of 3400 meters where Dechen Chholing Goemba's majestic surrounding is a perfect place to have lunch.
After lunch, we head back to Trongsa. We retire to Trongsa for the night. We will enjoy a slow drive for couple of hours through meandering roads along coniferous forests and Yutong La Pass.
We then continue our expedition further east towards beautiful Ura valley for about hour and half through beautiful conifer mountains, valleys, farms and pastures. Trongsa - Pele La Pass - Dochu La Pass - Thimphu
After an early breakfast, we start our journey through stunning morning view of majestic landscapes of Trongsa valley and Pele La on a meandering road. We will drive slowly and make various stops so you can capture serene landscapes along the way. This should give you enough time to rest back and enjoy the trip despite little bumpy roads due to the road widening projects by the government which nears its completion.
We will stop for lunch at a restaurant either in Wangdue Phodrang or Lobesa depending upon our travel time of about 4 to 5 hours enjoying the warmer weather with scenic paddy fields and singing birds along the Punatsang Chhu.
We then make a descend downhill into the capital city, Thimphu.
Once you check into the hotel you can unpack, get refreshed and rest before we go out for shopping your tour souvenir. We will take you for a leisure stroll into the buzzing town of Thimphu at Arts & Crafts Market near the Hotel Tashi Taj.

Thimphu - Paro - Tiger's Nest Temple
After your breakfast, we travel towards Paro. Then we start famous Taktsang hike, you can choose to ride a horse from the parking lot to the monasteries with your own expenses. If the full hike sounds a bit tough, you can hike for 1 hour to the cafeteria - a wooden tea-house restaurant which offers a good view of the monastery.
After your successful hike, you will be dropped off to your hotel and enjoy your dinner

Day 8
Departure for Paro
We present you a goodbye and see you again gift as we share a delightful breakfast together. Before driving to the Paro airport, we will check if everything is all set. As you take off so you take the cheerful memories of your visit and stay with us glancing for once last time the valleys of Paro before you start looking out of the window for the Himalayas.
